The Mechanical Data Handling facilities provide data acquisition, reduction and presentation for vibration, acoustic and shock testing. The acquisition system can handle various analogue inputs and consists of four mobile/modular 128 channel racks interconnected to the test article via mobile patch panels. Thanks to these mobile patch panels the instrumentation lines stay connected to the test article when moving from one facility to the other and can be easily reconnected to the acquisition racks.
In addition to the acquisition hardware ETS can also provide acceleration sensors and a Force Measurement Device (FMD) to the customer. This FMD consists of load cells connected via a summation unit to the data acquisition system. In this way the interface forces between shaker and test article are available during the test for control/notching and immediately available after the test for response analysis and modal identification.
